The mission of Forest City School is to provide an academic alternative for students who have at least 10 high school credits, who are not older than 21, who want to graduate from high school and transfer to college .
Statement of our vision: All enrolled in GHS will graduate from high school and university and become self-realized citizens and successful leaders in their communities.
At the time of graduation, a GHS student can expect to get:
- A general high school or high school diploma
- A minimum of 9 university credits
- A university or work transition plan
- Familiarity with the university experience in general
- Skills for continued success in the workplace or in college
- Competencies in individual responsibility
This public charter school represents a new and exciting opportunity for local students who have reached 45 percent of the credits required for high school graduation, providing them with maximum flexibility and opportunity for success. The school was funded in part by a grant from Gateway to College National Network .
